Moscow’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said it detained a 57-year-old German woman in Pyatigorsk carrying a homemade explosive device in her backpack. The FSB said the improvised device contained the equivalent of around 1.5 kg of TNT and alleged the arrest exposed a Ukrainian-backed false-flag plot to attack a law-enforcement facility in southern Stavropol. Authorities also detained a man from a Central Asian country they accused of coordinating the plan under instructions from Ukrainian intelligence. The FSB said the device was intended to be detonated remotely, killing the German woman.

Regional authorities said a Ukrainian drone attack killed at least one person and injured another in the Black Sea port city of Tuapse early on Monday. Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of Krasnodar region, said a fire broke out at the port and debris damaged residential buildings, a school and a kindergarten. He offered condolences to the family of the man who died and said another man received medical assistance.
This was the second strike on Tuapse in less than a week. On Thursday, a previous attack had killed a 14-year-old girl and a young woman, the governor said earlier. Ukraine’s drone forces commander Robert Brovdi said Ukrainian forces struck the Tuapse oil refinery, a Rosneft-owned facility and one of Russia’s key Black Sea export sites. Russia’s defence ministry said its air defences destroyed 112 Ukrainian drones overnight.
