Teachers aren’t the only profession being shown some appreciation.
Members of the nation’s most-trusted profession – nurses – are, too.
Select restaurants across the nation are showing nurses a little love by offering freebies and discounts for National Nurses Week, which kicks off Monday.
The week goes through May 12, which was the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Dates of the offers and participation varies by location.
For the past 17 years, Gallup has consistently named nursing as the most-trusted profession in its ratings of honesty and ethical standards in professions.
The poll showed 84% of Americans describe nurses’ ethics as high or very high. By comparison, 58% rated members of Congress as low or very low for honesty and ethical standards.
