June brings the summer heat and some good deal days.
The sweetest is June 7 for National Doughnut Day, which is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June.
There are some deals to help with the heat including National Iced Tea Day (June 10) and then the official first day of summer (June 21), which also is National Smoothie Day.
Here are some of the big days for free food and discounts along with ongoing specials, available at participating locations. To be on the safe side, always check with your closest location before heading out. Also, some will require you to have a restaurant’s app or be signed up for emails.

June 17: New Krispy Kreme donut released
New doughnuts have landed at Krispy Kreme.
On Monday, the doughnut chain announced it has added new Original Filled Doughnuts in two flavors – Classic Kreme and Chocolate Kreme – to its permanent U.S. menu. The launch is tied to the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11.
“Delivering a new taste experience for the doughnut-verse, Krispy Kreme’s Original Filled is a whole new interpretation of the brand’s iconic Original Glazed doughnut,” Krispy Kreme said in a statement, noting it is initially offered with a choice of two fillings: Classic Kreme and Chocolate Kreme.
“As America prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, we want to give our fans a new taste experience that is out of this world,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme chief marketing officer, in a statement.
June 17: Pizza Hut Cheesy Bites returns
Through Sunday, June 23, get a large, two-topping Thin ‘N Crispy or Hand-Tossed Pizza for $5.99 Pizza Hut when you order online at www.pizzahut.com and carry out.
Pizza Hut’s Cheesy Bites Pizza also is back for a limited time.
“This appetizer-and-pizza-in-one has a little something for everyone, whether you’re feeling generous and feeding the neighborhood block party with the 28 craveable, cheese-filled bites, or just satisfying a personal, cheesy craving,” Pizza Hut said in a statement.
June 27: Starbucks Happy Hour
The coffee giant’s Happy Hour event is back with a deal for Starbucks Rewards members. Between 3 p.m. and closing Thursday, buy any grande or larger iced beverage and get one free.
Starbucks’ new drinks – which include Teavana Flavored Iced Tea Lemonades, Teavana Flavored Iced Teas and Iced Cocoa Cloud Macchiato – are part of Thursday’s Happy Hour deal.
The Happy Hour offer has been loaded onto Starbucks Rewards members accounts and is available at participating U.S. locations.
Non-members can sign up for offers by creating an account at Starbucks.com. You can either add a Starbucks gift card to the account or choose an instant digital card when setting up the account.
Through June 27: Free ‘Aladdin’ tickets
For a limited time, Subway’s kids meals come with a way to get free tickets to the new “Aladdin” movie in theaters.
The world’s largest restaurant chain is giving away Fandango promo codes for free children’s tickets to the new Disney movie with purchase of “Subway Fresh Fit for Kids” meals, while supplies last and at participating restaurants. Each Fresh Fit For Kids meal also includes one of four collectible Disney’s Aladdin-themed activities.
According to the fine print, the free tickets are worth up to $11 and expire July 3 or when Aladdin is no longer in theaters, whichever is first. There’s a limit of four Fandango promo codes per household.

Chili’s: The $5 Margarita for June is the Stay-Cay ‘Rita, which is made with 1800 Reposado Tequila.

Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries: Through June 30, get a four-inch cheesesteak with fries or tots and a drink for $6.99.

Sonic Drive-In: Through Sept. 2, shakes are included in the ongoing Sonic Nights promotion and are half-price after 8 p.m. Ice cream cookie sandwiches are also part of the promotion.
