July 16: IHOP 58 cent short stacks
The chain known best for its pancakes is celebrating its “Panniversary” with a sweet deal.
In honor of IHOP’s 61st anniversary Tuesday, participating restaurants will sell short stacks, or three buttermilk pancakes, for 58 cents from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. This dine-in only deal is limited to one per person and while supplies last.
“Come celebrate the Panniversary of our founding in 1958 with 58¢ short stacks on Tuesday,” IHOP said on its Facebook event page. “We don’t just have 1950s prices, we’ve got 1950s lingo too. So cruise on through, daddy-o. It’s gonna be the bees’ knees. The cats’ pajamas. Totally aces.”
A short stack usually costs $5.79.
“This has been another incredible year for the IHOP brand and we’re celebrating by giving our loyal guests a can’t-beat deal on the pancakes that made us famous,” said Alisa Gmelich, IHOP vice president of marketing, in a statement.
The International House of Pancakes, which shortened its name to its initials years ago, turned the restaurant world upside down last summer – and garnered a lot of publicity – when it turned the “P” for Pancakes into a “b” for burgers.
Last month, the Glendale, California-based chain made another push for its burgers last month when it called the newest editions to its burgers line-up “pancakes.” Tuesday’s deal is on flapjacks and not beef.
Before heading to IHOP for Tuesday’s pancake party, confirm your closest location is participating and has pancakes left.
For a limited time, IHOP also has a gift card promotion. When you buy a $25 gift card at participating locations, get a $5 coupon, which expires Aug. 11.
Plus, sign up for MyHop at www.ihop.com/myhop to get free pancakes on your birthday and other specials.
