General Motors had the most on this year’s list, with 19 in total. Honda has 13, with the Civic coming in at No. 90. Toyota has 12 and Ford has 11. This shows that despite the ongoing semiconductor shortage and lack of vehicle inventory, consumer demand is high, especially for American-made vehicles. “Among the cars up for sale this model year that have the highest American-made credentials, there’s no single formula that tops all the rest. That’s ultimately good for consumers who care about buying American-made, as they have a wide range of vehicle types with high domestic credentials,” Mays said.The COVID-19 pandemic has caused consumers to want more and more American-made vehicles.Research done by shows 72% of shoppers consider a car’s U.S. economic impact an important deciding factor in their vehicle purchase, according to “Even as the pandemic threat begins to wane, a third of respondents in 2021 still say COVID-19 has made them more likely to buy an American-built vehicle.
