Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says only a few details remain to be smoothed out for Kyiv to accept a U.S.-backed peace plan to end Russia’s invasion. The agreement, drawn up last month by the U.S. special envoy and Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy adviser, initially heavily favored Russia. The plan has since been revised to include input from Ukraine and European partners — but it remains unclear whether Russia will accept those changes.
Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., spoke with Morning Edition host A Martinez about her role in the negotiations and whether the updated plan can produce a lasting peace for Ukraine.
