Activists blocked an entrance to a Rheinmetall facility in Berlin, prompting a police response, authorities said. Seven demonstrators glued themselves to the roadway to obstruct access; officers later detached and removed them. Several activists sustained minor hand injuries during the removal and received treatment on site.
Police opened investigations on suspicion of trespassing, coercion and resisting law enforcement. Reporters at the scene said protesters chanted calls for Rheinmetall to leave Berlin and criticized German arms and funding for contributing to deaths abroad.
The action mirrored a demonstration about two weeks earlier when activists scaled the factory roof, hung banners tied to the Middle East conflict and poured paint on the building’s facade. Specialized police rescue units were used to bring those demonstrators down.
Both incidents form part of a broader wave of protests and public debate focused on Rheinmetall’s role in Germany’s military build-up and the country’s arms export policies.
