In an impressive display of skill, Brazilian poker pro Gabriel "kingqueensuited" Tavares secured a remarkable total of $204,657 through consecutive victories in the Sunday Banana tournaments hosted by Americas Cardroom. This achievement took place on October 4 and 11, 2026, showcasing Tavares's exceptional talent.
Outstanding Tournament Performance
Tavares first took the spotlight on October 4, where he claimed a hefty prize of $96,336 in the inaugural Sunday Banana. The event featured a competitive field, drawing 436 entries and generating a lucrative prize pool of $436,000 thanks to its $1,050 buy-in.
Proving his skills once more, Tavares returned to the tables a week later to win the second Sunday Banana tournament, this time accumulating $108,321. The event attracted even more players, with 502 entries vying for a total prize pool of $502,000.
Staying Focused Under Pressure
Reflecting on his strategy during these challenging matches, Tavares emphasized the significance of discipline. In an exclusive interview with Americas Cardroom, he noted that holding a medium stack against shorter-stacked opponents played a crucial role in his second final table performance.
"When you play high stakes, consistency is very important, and winning tournaments like that is very important," Tavares stated.
Advancing in the Venom PKO
In addition to his Sunday victories, Tavares also achieved substantial success in the ongoing $5 Million GTD NLH Venom PKO tournament. He qualified for Day 2 with an impressive stack of 4,248,891 chips, marking him as the second-largest chip holder to advance from the opening flight on October 4.
The tournament is set to continue with two additional flights: Day 1D on October 15 and Day 1E on October 18, both starting at 1:05 p.m. ET. Excitement builds as Day 2 is slated for October 19 at the same hour, with players eager to secure their chances at the substantial prize pool.
