Sandpiper Elevates Leaders to Drive Growth in APAC and Middle East

Sandpiper announces the promotion of three key leaders to support its expansion efforts in the Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern markets.

In an effort to enhance its operations and foster growth in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions, Sandpiper has promoted three senior executives. This strategic move is aimed at bolstering the company’s leadership in light of its evolving objectives.

New Leadership Roles

Elizabeth Chu has been appointed as the managing director for Singapore, a position that complements her expanded role overseeing financial services across the region. Prior to her promotion, Chu held the role of deputy general manager at Sandpiper Singapore and will now lead its business from 2024 onwards.

Kimberley Spear has also received a promotion, rising to the position of managing director, financial services, while also assuming a groundbreaking role as head of employee experience. In her previous role as general manager for Sandpiper's Hong Kong branch, Spear dedicated five years to enhancing operational success.

Focus on Employee Development

In her new capacity as head of employee experience, Spear will prioritize cultivating Sandpiper’s workplace culture and supporting its workforce. This initiative is particularly important as the company expands its AI-powered offerings and service capabilities.

Additionally, Unice Liu has been elevated to the newly established position of head of growth markets. Liu's role is pivotal as it addresses the company’s goal to increase its presence in burgeoning markets across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Navigating Growth Markets

In her new position, Liu will spearhead strategies to assist organizations in entering and developing within these key markets. Her responsibilities will encompass guiding clients through geopolitical challenges, regulatory changes, and enhancing stakeholder engagement, especially as investment flows rise between these regions.

Emma Smith, the CEO of Sandpiper Group, emphasized the significance of these promotions, stating, 'Our achievements are founded on two key pillars: our talented workforce and our consistent commitment to achieving client success.' She further remarked that as companies seek growth in the Asia Pacific and Middle East, they require advisers who possess local expertise, regional insight, and a profound understanding of stakeholders.

According to Smith, these recent leadership advancements underscore Sandpiper’s strategy to nurture its management talent from within while simultaneously enhancing its capability to meet the demands of the next growth phase.

Recent Leadership Developments

These promotions form part of a broader pattern of leadership changes at Sandpiper this year. Earlier in 2026, Mokka Mok was appointed as deputy general manager in Hong Kong, reporting to Spear, underlining the business's ongoing growth in that region.

Mok’s role was introduced to strengthen the leadership structure in Hong Kong as Sandpiper extends its operations across 14 locations throughout Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

As Sandpiper continues to evolve, it remains committed to enhancing its service portfolio and leadership capabilities to meet the dynamic needs of its clients.
